NOTE: The museum will be closed April 1 to April 10, 2017 for maintenance work and is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, April 11.
The Museum is accessible via the Gift Shop entrance in the garden level of Hatley Castle. Free to explore, you will find two rooms filled with artifacts that represent the history from the Dunsmuir family and the Royal Roads Military College eras.
The Dunsmuir Room includes artifacts of James and Laura Dunsmuir's family life, the history of the Castle and gardens, with replicas of the grounds and reconstructions of some of the rooms, a model coal mine, railway history, a tribute to the denominational diversity at Hatley Park, and more.
Rear Admiral John A. Charles Room
Named in honour of the founder of the Friends of Hatley Park Society, the Charles Room includes class photos from each and every RRMC class, cadet uniforms, trophies, historical photographs and documents, and equipment used by the Canadian Forces.
